The convenient and quite isolated location of the gorge, which is within the territory of the forest reserve and natural recreational resource of the Gelendzhik area, has also contributed to the survival of many faunal and floral species. No industrial complexes or other man-made sources of pollution are nearby to spoil the pleasure of your stay. The local flora includes 1307 species of plants belonging to 123 families with the predominance of the Palaearctic and Mediterranean ancient groups. Endemic and narrowly distributed plants, trees, and shrubs are in abundance. The local ecosystem is unique. A total of 16 tertiary relict species have been included in the plant list.
